Misfiring Kane ‘will start to score’
Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino says he has no doubt Harry Kane will soon rediscover his scoring touch.
Kane is yet to open his account for the season and failed to take a string of chances that fell his way during Tottenham’s 1-1 draw with Burnley at Wembley.
However, Pochettino is confident that the England striker will put that right when Spurs return to action after the international break next month.
“He’s a player that works hard, his commitment is there and he’s been a little bit unlucky,” said Pochettino. “I feel sorry for him.
“He had opportunities to score, and a striker always needs to be lucky. I’m sure Harry will start to score as soon as possible, I’ve no doubt about that.”
In fact, Kane has never scored a goal in his first three league games of any season since he became a first team regular at Tottenham in 2014.
He was denied twice at close range by Burnley goalkeeper Tom Heaton, as well as having a header cleared off the line by Steven Defour in the second half.
