Tottenham eyeing French prospect along with Man City
Tottenham are closely monitoring France Under-20 star Matteo Guendouzi along with Manchester City.
The 18-year-old has established himself in Lorient’s first team in the French second tier this season.
Spurs are scouting for an eventual replacement for Mousa Dembele, who turns 31 next year and whose contract expires in 2019.
Manager Mauricio Pochettino last week urged his club to consider bringing next summer’s transfer business forward to the January window to try beat their rivals to targets.
“Maybe we need to sign players in January and bring them in six months before.,” he said.
“If not, we’re going to compete in the same period as City, United, Liverpool and Chelsea, and we’re going to struggle to bring in the players we want.”
