Pochettino dismisses reports Chelsea want Llorente
Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has dismissed reports linking Chelsea with Fernando Llorente as “another rumour” and insisted the striker is in his plans.
Llorente previously played for Juventus under Blues boss Antonio Conte, who wanted to sign him prior to the Spaniard’s surprise move to Spurs from Swansea during the summer.
With Conte keen for Chelsea to bring in a forward before the current transfer window closes, there have been reports that Llorente is again being lined up for a potential move to Stamford Bridge.
But Pochettino said: “That is another rumour. I know nothing about that. Fernando is our player.
“I cannot speak about rumours. He played the last game against Newport. He’s one player in the squad. He’s in our plans.”
Meanwhile, Conte has all but confirmed that Chelsea will not be signing Roma’s former Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko.
