Mauricio Pochettino declared his ‘love’ for Harry Kane after the striker bagged two more goals in the 3-2 derby win at West Ham.
He also said the striker is one of the best in the world, let alone the Premier League.
Asked whether he views Kane as one of the best strikers in the country, the Spurs boss said: ‘Not only English, I think also the world.
“For me Harry is one of the best strikers in the world and it’s hard to find the words to describe him, because the last three seasons I am telling you how he is.
“I am in love, like the fans are in love, like his team-mates are in love and not only because he scores goals, but because of how he is – professional.
“He sets a very good example, he keeps all the values that a manger like me appreciates. That’s why I say to you, I am in love with him for different reasons.”
Pochettino’s men were given a late scare following the sending-off of Serge Aurier for two yellow cards, but the Tottenham manager was swift to defend his new defender.
“I don’t think the first yellow card was a yellow card,” he said.
“Of course I’m disappointed, as I’m sure he is, but that’s football. I am happy with him. All at the club and his team-mates are very happy with him. He’s only 20 days with us, working and am happy with him.
“To show your real quality, you need time. It’s completely different the league in France and the Premier League.”
Pochettino’s men have now won three on the road in the Premier League, in stark contrast to their Wembley wobbles.
“Now we need to start to feel good at Wembley and make it our home,” he said. “I think the team is doing fantastic away from home but to win at Wembley is our next challenge.”
