Spurs v West Ham player ratings

Tottenham had to settle for a point against West Ham at Wembley. Here’s how we rated each Spurs player in the 1-1 draw.

Hugo Lloris: 6

The Spurs skipper had only two shots to face in the entire game – and although he had no chance of stopping Pedro Obiang’s strike, Lloris did make a vital save to foil Andre Ayew late on.

Serge Aurier: 6

Aurier’s tackling was solid and he got forward throughout, setting up a first-half chance for Harry Kane. The problem was that his crossing wasn’t always that accurate or effective.

Davinson Sanchez: 7

Generally, the big defender distributed the ball well and was strong in the tackle – particularly when he halted a rare break from Cheikhou Kouyate early in the second half.

Jan Vertonghen: 7

Like his central defensive partner, Vertonghen was rarely under pressure, but he made important challenges to snuff out the threat from Chicharito either side of half-time.

Ben Davies: 8

The Welshman showed good vision and linked effectively with Heung-Min Son throughout, getting into space and putting a series of decent balls into the West Ham penalty area.

Moussa Sissoko: 5

It’s hard to see why Spurs waited until the final 15 minutes to substitute Sissok. He gave the ball away repeatedly and one awful pass that drifted away from Aurier for a throw-in summed up his night.

Eric Dier: 7

By contrast, it was surprising to see Dier substituted alongside Sissoko – his composure and ability to win the ball prevented West Ham from breaking out beyond the halfway line for much of the game.

Christian Eriksen: 8

Eriksen always looked lively, flitting across the attacking line behind Kane, and was unlucky not to get his name on the scoresheet when Adrian pulled off an excellent save just before half-time.

Dele Alli: 6

It was a frustrating evening for Alli, who set up chances for Kane and Son but also gave the ball away too often and his touch let him down when running onto a Davies cross with the score at 0-0.

Heung-Min Son: 7

The South Korean forward made a slow start, with a few early passes going astray, but he settled into his groove and thoroughly deserved his 83rd-minute equaliser.

Harry Kane: 7

Always looking to make things happen, Kane forced a couple of good saves from Adrian and could also feel aggrieved that his claims for a penalty against Pablo Zabaleta fell on deaf ears.

  • SISOKO =5 ?? must be joking ?? check his stats on touches, run , giveaway or block balls ! for his appreance , I question MP opinion, - aggresion, or just passing ball! Have you ever see sisoko holding ball longer to create amazing passes or create space or even beat a defender or player - he cant even beat a linesman ! what a financial mistake yet alone techincal ? I can only assume, you playing him in order to obtain playing time to sell ?..I surely hope so!

  • Can't believe you gave Sissoko a 5. I'd like to see the stats on his passing, almost ever one was backwards and less than half went to a Spurs player
