Tottenham vs Burnley player ratings
Tottenham’s problems at Wembley continued as Chris Wood’s injury-time goal denied them a victory at their temporary home. Here’s how we rated each Spurs player in the 1-1 draw with Burnley.
Hugo Lloris: 6
A mixed performance from the keeper, who was alert to deny Wood and produced a cracking save from Robbie Brady. But he had some uncertain moments, not least when a cross almost caught him out, and his distribution was poor at times.
Kieran Tripper: 6
Looked lively going forward but there was little end product. Was at fault in the build up to Burnley’s equaliser and again looked short of match sharpness following his recent return from injury.
Toby Alderweireld: 6

Calm and composed until also being at fault for the Burnley goal. He switched off and it proved to be costly.
Jan Vertonghen: 7
Had a good game. Defended well and also got forward on the left, linking up nicely with Ben Davies.
Ben Davies: 7
Set up good chances for Harry Kane that weren’t taken. Always posed a threat on the flank.
Eric Dier: 7

Strong and committed in midfield and was an asset in the air, heading over from a Christian Eriksen cross and playing a key role in the goal with a header for Dele Alli to provide the finish.
Mousa Dembele: 5
Sloppy at times, particularly as the game wore on. Kept his work-rate up though.
Christian Eriksen: 6

Not at his best, but took up some clever positions in an attempt to make things happen and his corner led to Tottenham’s goal.
Heung-Min Son: 6
Bright in the first half, but faded somewhat after that. Always willing to run at defenders and drag them out of position.
Dele Alli: 7

Deserved his goal, which was the highlight of a tidy display. Has looked out of sorts so far this season, but this was better.
Harry Kane: 6
Missed good chances to score but his work ethic shone through. Pressed from the front and continually looked to occupy defenders and bring others into the game.
Moussa Sissoko: 6
Did quite well after replacing Son for the final 20 minutes. Created a chance for Eriksen and won a number of challenges.
