Pochettino hails Sanchez after Spurs victory
Mauricio Pochettino hailed Davinson Sanchez’s full Tottenham debut as a success and believes he calmly slotted into Premier League football.
Sanchez joined Spurs in a club-record £38.4m deal from Ajax last month and the 21-year-old made his first start for the club in a 3-0 victory over Everton at Goodison Park.
Boss Pochettino said: “The good thing is that he didn’t feel it was his debut. He played easy, was calm and relaxed but was aggressive and played the ball.
“I am happy because he is young and to feel the Premier League and start to play, when you come from the Netherlands, is a big impact.
“But he was very good and I think all the team played well today. It was a very solid performance and we fully deserved to take the three points.
“When you win it’s easy to explain but I think we played better and deserved the victory for different reasons. One is maybe because of some positions on the pitch but I don’t want to talk too much about tactics.”
