Will Hughes deliver for QPR?
Mark Hughes’ return to football management at QPR has been the big story of the week.
And ‘Sparky’ will be looking for a bright start from his new club when they travel to the north-east to meet a Newcastle side without Demba Ba and Cheick Tiote, who are at the African Cup of Nations.
We have betting on the number of points the R’s get from their next two fixtures and bet:
Total Premier League points in January (to play Newcastle (A) & Wigan (H):
Under two: 6/5
Three or four: 6/4
Over three: 3/1
Other QPR specials:
To be relegated: 7/4
Finishing position:
16th or better: 4/5
17th or worse: Evens
Season Handicap:
QPR (+35.5 pts) 10/11
Chelsea (-35.5 pts) 10/11
QPR (+9.5 pts) 10/11
Fulham (-9.5 pts) 10/11
Rangers are 15/4 at Newcastle on Sunday with the Magpies 8/11 and the draw 11/4.
Fulham visit Blackburn and if the teams can make it past the Rovers protesters the game should kick off on time.
Blackburn showed in beating Arsenal and Manchester United that on their day they are a match for most and this is a difficult fixture for Martin Jol’s boys.
The hosts are 15/8 with Fulham 6/4 and the draw at 9/4.
I think a share of the spoils would be a decent enough result for Fulham especially with Rovers getting some of their better players back from injury.
There is well-publicised disillusionment and resentment with the natives over the way the club has been handled, but the supporters got behind their side despite losing to Bolton in their last home game and I think it will be a tough game. We at BetVictor bet 11/2 for 1-1.
Sunderland have been backed from 10/1 to 8/1 for Saturday’s fixture at Chelsea as punters latched onto the fact that the Black Cats beat Chelsea 3-0 last year and a very ordinary Villa side were recently worthy 3-1 winners at the Bridge.
We have also opened a market on where Frank Lampard will be plying his trade on 1 September 2012 and bet:
Chelsea: 6/4
West Ham: 3/1
Any other club: 4/1
QPR: 6/1
Any MLS club: 8/1
Spurs: 10/1
12s bar
Chelsea should have too much for the Black Cats but make little appeal at 4/11 with the draw at 15/4.
Fernando Torres is 17/4 to score the opener and the Spaniard must come good soon….mustn’t he?
You will have noticed that we have rebranded from Victor Chandler to BetVictor and have launched our new website at betvictor.com. We hope you find it clear, fresh and easier to navigate.
