Villas-Boas wants to take Chelsea man to Spurs – report
Andre Villas-Boas wants to take Chelsea midfielder Raul Meireles to Tottenham, according to the Daily Mirror.
Meireles, who played under the Spurs boss at Porto and joined him at Stamford Bridge a year ago, was reported to be unhappy when Villas-Boas was sacked by Chelsea earlier this year.
And it is claimed that Villas-Boas is looking to sign the 29-year-old after the departure from White Hart Lane of Luka Modric.
The Mirror also suggest Chelsea are finally set to finally land Marseille right-back Cesar Azpilicueta.
The club have reportedly offered £7m for the Spaniard after having a £6m bid rejected.
Meanwhile, several papers believe Joey Barton not being given a squad number by QPR is a sign the player is finished at Loftus Road.
The Daily Mail say R’s boss Mark Hughes is interested in signing former Chelsea defender Jose Bosingwa and that Fulham are chasing Blackburn midfielder Steven Nzonzi.
