Tottenham star Vertonghen nursing ankle injury
Jan Vertonghen is a doubt or Tottenham’s FA Cup replay against Rochdale this week because of an ankle injury.
The defender missed the 1-0 win at Crystal Palace on Sunday after taking a heavy knock in training on Saturday.
Boss Mauricio Pochettino said: “We need to assess Jan. He took a heavy knock in his ankle in training yesterday.
“After training we waited until this morning to assess him and he could not play. Now we need to see.
‘Him and Toby Alderweireld were the only injuries today. Fernando Llorente, Harry Winks and Kyle Walker-Peters are fit but we can only select seven players on the bench.”
