Theophane brings in trainer Charles

Kilburn’s Ashley Theophane has drafted in trainer Don Charles to help him prepare for his British light-welterweight title defence against Steve Williams.

Theophane, who will face Williams in Liverpool on 19 May, will be making his third defence of the coveted Lonsdale belt.

The experienced Charles also trains heavyweights Dereck Chisora and Ali Adams.

Iraq-born Adams, who lives in Chelsea, takes on Audley Harrison next month.
