Alonso hailed by Blues fans – but others are still not convinced
Many Chelsea fans on Twitter have been full of praise for Marcos Alonso following the Blues’ win at Middlesbrough on Sunday.
The former Bolton and Sunderland defender moved to Stamford Bridge in the summer from Fiorentina and was assumed to be cover for the left-back spot held by Cesar Azpilicueta.
But the change to 3-4-3 has seen Alonso make the left wing-back spot his own and Chelsea are yet to concede a goal with him in the starting line-up.
Cannot underestimate the importance/influence of Alonso in this 3-4-3 system. Simply phenomenal since the switch.. #CFC

Love Marcos Alonso's crosses. Will lead to many goals and dangerous chances this year. Don't think I've ever seen such a good crosser at CFC

Marcos Alonso has taken to life at Chelsea like a duck to water. Way better than I anticipated!

However, other supporters watching the game at the Riverside Stadium were less convinced by Alonso.
Massive result today..Alonso while defending is horrible…3-4 times players went pass him easily…#CFC

Marcos Alonso is clearly the weakest link in the team. Boro exposed his flaws yesterday.

Good win at Boro who weren't bad. Alonso doing ok but still the weak link in the team for me. Not sure who'd replace him though. #CFC

I just don't like Marcos Alonso. He is not Chelsea quality player as of now. He needs to improve a lot offensively.
