Liverpool boss Rodgers dismisses Mourinho’s Suarez ‘dive’ jibe
Brendan Rodgers refuted Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho’s claim that Luis Suarez dived to try to win a penalty late in Liverpool’s 2-1 defeat at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
Mourinho accused the Uruguayan of performing a ‘swimming pool jump’ past Chelsea striker Samuel Eto’o, after losing the ball in a challenge with Cesar Azpilicueta.
However, Liverpool manager Rodgers was insistent referee Howard Webb should have given his side a penalty.
He said: “If you see the incident again, Suarez is running in to challenge Azpilicueta and Eto’o is streetwise and cute and he blocks him.
“On another day you could give that as a penalty because it’s obstruction in the area.
“But of course Jose will defend his player and I will defend mine.”

Mourinho isn’t defending his player as such, he is attacking Suarez. Rodgers needs to get his head out of Mourinho’s ar*e and tell him to keep his mouth shut.
