Redknapp looking to emulate former Everton boss
Harry Redknapp is hoping to emulate his friend Joe Royle by saving his side from the drop this season.
QPR are still awaiting their first league win of the campaign and after two draws under new manager Redknapp are in danger of being cut adrift at the bottom of the table.
Royle, who led Manchester City to the top flight, kept Everton up in dramatic circumstances on the final day of the 1994/95 season and it may take a similar escape act for Rangers to survive.
“Joe Royle sent me a text about doing a miracle – like turning water into wine,” Redknapp revealed.
“I speak to Joe sometimes. I have had loads of messages from people. Have people said I am mad? Loads of people.
“They ask, ‘What are you doing, Harry – are you on drugs?’ But we will give it a go. That is all we can do.”
