Rangers and Southampton want Stoke City striker – report
Stoke City striker Kenwyne Jones is a target for QPR, the Daily Mail report.
It is claimed that promoted Southampton and Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala are also interested in the Trinidad & Tobago international.
Potters boss Tony Pulis is said to be willing to listen to offers for Jones, who has slipped down the pecking order of forwards at the Britannia Stadium.
The Mail also link Alessandro Del Piero with QPR after the 37-year-old, who is tipped to leave Juventus, told Italian newspaper Corriere Dello Sport that he would like to play in England.
The Daily Star say R’s captain Joey Barton has drafted in his own solicitor to help him fight a possible 12-game ban from the FA following his outburst against Manchester City.
It’s believed Barton plans to plead guilty to two charges of violent conduct but will argue he was provoked by City’s Vincent Kompany.
The Star also report that television personality Michael Barrymore has offered to help Barton.
Meanwhile, Barcelona want to sign Didier Drogba, according to The Sun.
The striker’s Chelsea contract expires this summer and it is claimed that Barca are keen to offer him a two-year deal worth up to £5m a season in the hope he will snub a move to China, Milan or the USA.
A Barcelona source is quoted as saying: “What the team needs is an attacking player who has the presence and strength to trouble defenders.
“Drogba has that profile and is one of the players the club are looking at.”
The Sun also suggest that Chelsea could be able to bring Guus Hiddink back to Stamford Bridge because of a break clause in his contract with mega-rich Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala.
Hiddink, who managed the Blues in 2009, is said to have until May 30 to decide whether he will sign a new one-year deal or walk away.
