QPR slash ticket prices for Sunderland game to mark 1967 League Cup triumph
QPR have announced that tickets for their League Cup match against Sunderland next month will be priced at £6.70 to mark the approaching 50th anniversary of when the club won the tournament.
Sunderland will visit Loftus Road on 21 September for a third-round tie and under-8s accompanied by a paying adult will be admitted for free, while tickets for under-18s will cost £5.
The £6.70 offer applies only to tickets purchased in advance. Admission for adults paying on the night of the game will be £15.
Rangers’ famous 1967 triumph came when they were a third-tier club and were 2-0 down against top-flight side West Brom at half-time at Wembley.
QPR, then managed by Alec Stock, sensationally won the trophy after second-half goals from Roger Morgan, Rodney Marsh and Mark Lazarus.
