QPR make audacious bid to land striker – report
QPR have made an audacious bid to lure France striker Olivier Giroud, according to the Daily Mail.
Rangers manager Mark Hughes is said to be prepared to splash a significant part of his summer budget to land a top-class goalscorer.
Arsenal have been linked with Montpellier star Giroud, who is believed to have a £12.8m release clause in his contract
Meanwhile, Chelsea have told Roberto Di Matteo they would like him to remain as manager, the Mail claim.
Sources at Stamford Bridge are said to be increasingly confident the Italian will still be in charge at the start of the new season.
The Mail also say West Ham are interested in re-signing Yossi Benayoun, who is expected to leave Chelsea, Barcelona have reignited their interest in Blues defender David Luiz, and that Reading are looking to sign Pavel Pogrebnyak as the striker is yet to agree terms with Fulham.
Meanwhile, the Daily Mirror claim Chelsea are ready to make a £20m swoop for Everton midfielder Marouane Fellaini.
The Mirror also suggest Ajax’s Gregory van der Wiel heads Chelsea’s list of potential new right-backs.
