QPR ‘determined to ship Barton out one way or another’

QPR wanted to fine Joey Barton three months’ rather than six weeks’ wages for his violent outburst against Manchester City, the Daily Mirror say.

The PFA are said to have stepped in to stop him being fined close to £1m by the club.

Rangers are determined to ship Barton out of Loftus Road one way or another, the Daily Mail report, and manager Mark Hughes is likely to make him train with the reserves until the player leaves.

Meanwhile, Chelsea midfielder Raul Meireles is an £8m target for Napoli, according to the Mirror.

It is claimed that Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has made enquiries to Meireles’ agents and is keen to try and make the move happen.
