QPR chief’s ‘pub-lic meeting’
A number of Tuesday’s newspapers pick up on Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas’ comments to a Portuguese radio station in which he appeared to cast doubt on his future.
Having previously insisted that he had the full support of Blues owner Roman Abramovich and would not be sacked, Villas-Boas suggested that he could go the same way as Carlo Ancelotti a year ago.
He said: “We are now in the exact same moment as last year. It is an exact copy.
“I think that I have felt the confidence from Abramovich. But the pattern of behaviour of the owner has led to a downfall of coaches in similar situations or even ‘better’ situations.
“What will be the reaction? It will be one of the two — a continuation of the project and full support or just the cultural pattern that has happened before. We don’t know.”
The Sun have the headline ‘I fear Rom axe’ while the Daily Mirror say ‘AVB admits writing could be on the wall’.
The Daily Star pick up on QPR chairman Tony Fernandes’ latest tweets pledging to meet fans in the pubs around Loftus Road on Saturday.
It declares that Fernandes has callled for a ‘pub-lic meeting’ with disgruntled supporters following Rangers’ dismal recent results.
