QPR chief insists striker Remy’s move was not about money
QPR chief executive Philip Beard has insisted that Loic Remy did not join the club for financial reasons.
Striker Remy opted to sign for Rangers from Marseille this week rather than move to Newcastle, who were also interested in him.
Remy initially declined to even meet with Harry Redknapp when the R’s boss recently travelled to France to see him.
But QPR were always optimistic the 26-year-old could be persuaded to sign for them.
“This move isn’t motivated by money,” Beard declared on Rangers’ website.
“Loic has a passion and desire to achieve in his career and similar to [Julio] Cesar, he wanted to be part of our project.
“We know we haven’t achieved our goals so far this season, but he wanted to come in and help us build for the future.”

Haha all you bitter barcodes! You seem to forget you’re in a relegation battle too? You’ve just lost your top goalscorer, your captain wants out and Ben arfa is off in the summer. Add to the fact your manager is average at best and your chairman is clueless. You’re hardly a catch are you?
Hopefully Remy gets a hat trick against you at loftus road and sends you down.

Oh yes and elephants can fly, we will see what happens if QPR go down, will he show his want and admiration for the project then? As Compo rightly says why not just match what NUFC offered to pay him and why insert a nice little get out clause. Harry left a great legacy at Portsmouth lets hope for QPR’s sake history dosen’t repeat itself.

hahaha yeah, it was the thrill of playing in front of 18,000 (1 stand at St James’s) and playing in europe (Swansea) that made him sign, or was he like Cesar and spouted aload of smoke up everyones behind, when really he signed for hmmmmmm money.
bet remy is having a fantasic time singing “I’ve got a pocket full of pretty green” while drunk at training.

Why didn’t you just give him £40k a week then?

Does he actually believe that, I very much doubt it. Newcastle offer 40k, QPR offered 85k but it had nothing to do with money. Yeah it was all about the project, what a load of trollop. Same reason Eto and Samba went to Russia, knowing there was a good chance they’d be racially abused. All about the ambition!

So he’s signed for a “Project” then? LOL!
Project 1 – £40k a week
Project 2 – £70-100k a week
