QPR chairman ‘hammered’ by fans after defeat against Sheffield United
Tony Fernandes claimed he was being “hammered” on Twitter by angry QPR fans after the FA Cup defeat against Sheffield United.
The Rangers chairman, also the chief executive of AirAsia, has been in the news recently after one of the airline’s planes crashed into the Java Sea with 162 people on board.
Fernandes tweeted: “Qpr fans hammering me. My concern right now is only families of our Surabaya flight.
“Getting hammered by Qpr fans. only concern is the families affected by our plane. But experimental side today. 19 points. League not cup.”

— Tony Fernandes (@tonyfernandes) January 4, 2015
He also referred to QPR’s head of football operations Les Ferdinand, academy boss Chris Ramsey, chief executive Philip Beard, chief operating officer Mark Donnelly, finance director Rebecca Caplehorn and the club’s co-owner Ruben Emir Gnanalingam.
Fernandes insisted: “There is a good team now at qpr. Les, Chris, Phil mark Rebecca and @Ruben_E_G from shareholders helping harry. While I focus on Airasia.”
QPR legend Rodney Marsh defended Fernandes and played down the importance of yet another early cup exit for the club.
Marsh tweeted: “FA Cup is meaningless for clubs like #QPR (not the fans) Can now focus on the only thing that matters is EPL survival.
“Understand a small group of #QPR ‘fans’ are pelting Tony Fernandes. My god. He is the one person you should not be holding responsible !!!”

The Sheff utd result shows what a total shambles the club is in.
“True fans” ,as the above poster puts it, paid “real” money to watch that shambles and the club should be ashamed.
Thanks to TF throwing money around like a drunken sailor in a bar a few years ago the well in now dry and we are paying the price.
He is fully responsible for that and, in my opinion, deserves the criticism that has come his way.
He sanctioned those deals for those players, together with the inept Beard.
We are a laughing stock.

On behalf of true R’s fans everywhere…can I please offer both sincere condolences and even more sincere apologies to Tony Fernandes for the terrible news of the air crash – and the appalling way some so- called fans have attacked you since… I cannot believe these morons can even begin to criticise you and the rest of the Board – who are all clearly doing their utmost to take our club forward…
As for Harry and the boys…. We know just how bad we were against Sheffield Utd but in all honesty it may turn out to be a blessing in disguise… Hopefully starting with away points today !…
C’mon u rrrrrrrrrs!!

If the bumbling TF acted faster we could have had Pulis in place.
But no. He will realise in Feb that we are buggered and then pull the plug on Harry, giving any new manager no window to get players in.

As for calling for Harry’s head? Name his replacement.
Only sensible people need top reply, as most of the names that numpties have suggested are not available, or are totally ridiculous!

The only people that need blaming are the players. After all, they claim to be Premier League footballers.
Those having a go at Tony Fernandes are exactly the sort of supporter that QPR doesn’t need.
Self-centered, ignorant fools, who think that the World revolves around their pathetic view of the World!

Indeed, Harry is well past his sell by date and should have been removed after his failure to get automatic promotion last term.
TF is too slow to react to most things at QPR.
A nice guy but a total Baffoon when it comes to football matters
Reminds me of a court jester.
In my book he should follow Harry out the door.

The only thing TF may be culpable of is not removing Rednapp from his position. The writing was on the wall early on in the season when he blamed our poor form on a badly organisecd preseason tour, the responability for this must surely be down to him, since then several more lame excuses have been forthcoming from him coupled with the continuing poor team selections, I’m now waiting for the next one in which TF was never available to contact thereby the January signings were not his first choice.
Rednapp should have been sacked late October and Pulis
appointed, TF left it too late when Hughes was sacked we’re
going through the same scenario now and relegation is on
the horizon. I’m no headhunter, never have been, but the weight of evidence has built up against him, his removal is long overdue.
How many other teams had to play four games in ten days, in fact Wesr Brom had one day less, and we had two EDS players on the bench, fresh legs, but did they get a chance to
play.

Agree with steve .balance of team all wrong if adel can’t get in this team then he must be a real problem but warnock got a good tune out of him !! Wide midfield players who know how to defend and keep the ball Would be a big help

What a load of utter rubbish, Neil you’re gullible and have no idea of what’s going on @ QPR!
Fernandes has done nothing bar be unprofessional and run up £177m+ debts. He is an embarrassment to the club, we did not get promoted on merit, it was LUCK. We will not and cannot fill a 40k stadium and what’s happened to the training complex???
Experimental side???

Fernandes is a good man. Rich Smith sounds dumb. If it was my money I would prefer to have a decent manager spend it than a clown like Arry .

I truly cannot believe some of the comments regards TF,these idiots won’t be happy until they’ve driven him out of the club.He is trying do deal with something slightly more important than QPR going out the cup…..over 100 people lost their lives,
are people really so ignorant and self involved its embarrassing and quite pathetic.Besides, the team we fielded today was, on paper more than adequate to deal with Sheffield utd if the team didn’t step up to the plate then they should shoulder responsibility, not the CEO,not the chairman or the the tea lady for that matter…grow up!!

Errr think only one person to blame
ARRY is the problem we played better football under Hughes
Even with all the mercenaries in the team
This team is Arrys
Honestly has he improved the football .. No
Does anyone actually really believed they know
What system we’re playing …No
we are so bad its unreal
How can you buy crap from Cardiff and Norwich both relegated last year
And spend 20 million doing so and expect to stay up
Has any one actually watched us play tho year
We struggle to get the ball in games
And then most of our team cant tell what color our team play in they just
Kick the ball to the nearest player irrelevant of what team he plays for
Its ridiculous i would get rid of Arry and get a card board cut out in…
In his place (any figure would do)
That goes for the whom of the so called midfield and half the defence

Some of our fans are just bonkers. Fernandes has put untold millions into the club but would you really trust Arry with any more?

All true Q.P.R.supporters worship the ground tony Fernandes walks on,and rightly so.He has tried to make this club bigger and better,he is quite simply the best thing to happen to Q.P.R.in ages.wouldn’t be at all surprised if these morons who are giving him a hard time (especially with what he is going through away from football at present) are not Q.P.R.fans at all.

The venerable Mr Marsh is spot on. Tony F Is not responsible for the putrid efforts over the past 3 games. This team needs to man up and start bleeding for the cause. We need something special from here on with Pulis in West Brom and Pardew at Palace likely to pull them clear of trouble. Another sad day in the Rrrrrrrs FA cup history

Who is to blame then?
Only prem team to be knocked out by lower league opposition.
Harry blaming the Xmas programme.
Was the same for everyone !!!!
What the hell does Phil Beard do to earn his money?
Always seems to drag his heals on signings.
