QPR boss unsure over Remy’s future
QPR boss Harry Redknapp says he has no idea whether Loic Remy is likely to join Newcastle on a permanent basis.
Signed by the R’s from Marseille for £8m a year ago, Remy has scored 10 goals in 18 league appearances since joining the Magpies on a season-long loan.
There has been speculation over whether Newcastle will agree a deal to buy him, while Arsenal are also reported to be interested in the French striker.
Redknapp said: “I honestly don’t know what the deal is there. The chairman [Tony Fernandes] and [chief executive] Philip Beard did the loan deal.
“I don’t know what the situation is, I just know he’s done exactly what I expected him to, which is to score goals. He can score goals anywhere in the Premier League.”
Redknapp has made it clear he would happily sell Remy if QPR received a big-money bid.
