Mourinho ‘rules out return’

Jose Mourinho has ruled out a return to Chelsea, the Daily Mirror reports.

The story is based on comments by the daughter of the owner of a London restaurant Mourinho and his family visited this week.

She said: “A lot of the staff are Chelsea fans, including me, and they were asking him if he was coming back to the club.

“Unfortunately he said he wasn’t. We’re all disappointed as he was a great manager for us. I wish he was coming back.”

The Sun say Mourinho is keeping his options open despite looking at houses in London – and could even end up at Manchester City.

A source close to the Real Madrid manager is quoted as saying: “Jose says he will wait to see what happens in England in the next few months.

“Will Harry Redknapp leave Tottenham for the England job? Will Roberto Mancini go if Manchester City don’t win the title? Will Andre Villas-Boas survive at Chelsea? They are three big jobs that would all appeal to Jose.”

Meanwhile, the Mirror say Chelsea and Arsenal are watching Real Sociedad defender Inigo Martinez and that Atletico Madrid want Blues keeper Thibaut Courtois to stay on loan with them for another season.

And The Independent suggest QPR manager Mark Hughes has said that his team are too good to go down.
