‘Legend!’ – Chelsea fans want Lampard back
Many Chelsea fans on Twitter want to see Frank Lampard back at Stamford Bridge after the former England midfielder announced his departure from New York City FC.
Lampard confirmed on Monday he will be leaving the MLS club when his contract expires at the end of the year.
On his Instagram account, he said he would be “making an announcement very soon” about the next stage of his career – and many Blues fans hope he will return to Chelsea as a coach.
100% keeping my fingers crossed Super Frank comes back to Chelsea in some capacity to get his coaching badges. Legend. #CFC

Some Chelsea supporters even think the 38-year-old still has something to offer on the pitch, and want him to add to his 648 appearances and 211 goals for the Blues.
Lampard leaving New York City, scored 15 goals in 31 apps. Get him back at Chelsea!!!

Would be a missed opportunity for us to not re-sign Frank Lampard. His contribution both on and off the pitch would be so valuable. #CFC

Conte has done so much for our club already but IF he can bring Lampard back and let him finish his career at Chelsea would be FANTASTIC.

Sign Lampard now !!!!! @ChelseaFC

I know we have many targets but bringing Lampard back should be our priority in January 😎😎#CFC

However, for others Lampard’s return would be purely sentimental.
Having Drogba/Lamps as assistant coaches under, say, Mourinho makes sense because they know his methods. It's not the case with Conte.

What I'd like to see is Lamps take up a lower league coaching job in an effort to gain some experience to manage #CFC in the future.
