Engineer appeared in 164 County Championship games for Lancashire, scoring 5549 runs at an average of 26.05. During his tenure, he had 22 fifties and four hundreds. Engineer holds the record for the most runs scored by a cricketer from India.
Nawab of Pataudi Jr.
Between 1957 and 1970, Pataudi appeared in 82 County Championship games for Sussex, accumulating 2874 runs, including 14 fifties and a century.
Dilip Doshi
Between 1977 and 1981, Doshi played for Nottinghamshire and Warwickshire. He took 246 wickets at 32.07 apiece in 73 matches. He had eight five-wicket hauls to his name, the best of which being six for 67 in an innings.
Sunil Gavaskar (1980)
Gavaskar played for Somerset for one season, scoring 686 runs at an average of 34.29 in 15 first-class matches. His 138 against Surrey and 75 against Gloucestershire in the second innings stood out. In 16 one-day games, he hit 90 against Kent and 123 against Middlesex in a one-run loss.
Anil Kumble (1995)
Anil Kumble was a member of the Leicestershire, Northamptonshire, and Surrey cricket teams. Between 1995 and 2006, he appeared in 32 games. Kumble took 105 wickets at an average of 20.40 in the summer of 1995, propelling Northants reach third place in the points table.
Sachin Tendulkar (1992)
Tendulkar (pictured above) created history when he became the first overseas cricketer to play for Yorkshire at the age of nineteen. In 16 County Championship matches, he scored 1,070 runs at an average of 46.52, including seven fifties and a century.
Sourav Ganguly (2000, 2005, 2006)
Between 2000 and 2006, Sourav Ganguly appeared in 21 matches for Glamorgan, Lancashire, and Northamptonshire. Ganguly scored 671 runs in 21 innings for Lancashire in his debut season, averaging 31.95 and featuring six fifties. The southpaw subsequently joined Glamorgan in 2005, scoring one century and three half-centuries at an average of 62.57 before returning to Northants for a brief run in the County Championship, when he averaged just 4.80 in six games.
Rahul Dravid (2000)
The ‘Wall’ Rahul Dravid was the Kent representative in 2000. He scored 1,221 runs at an average of 55.50 in 16 first-class matches, including two hundreds, before scoring 437 runs at 43.70 in the 50-Over National League.
