Hughes tables £7m bid – report
Mark Hughes tabled a £7m bid for Blackburn’s Chris Samba immediately after being confirmed as QPR boss, the Daily Mail reports.
Rangers recently offered £5m for the defender, who signed for Rovers when Hughes was manager at Ewood Park.
The Daily Mirror say Hughes will get a £1m bonus if he keeps Rangers in the Premier League.
Hughes will be given a free rein to completely overhaul the club, the Daily Telegraph reports.
According to The Sun, QPR’s board want Hughes to secure a European place next season.
Meanwhile, the Mirror suggest Fulham are among the many clubs watching striker Jamie Vardy of non-League side Fleetwood.
The Sun, on the other hand, claim Fulham are planning to hijack Leicester’s attempt to sign Billy Sharp from Doncaster.
The Mail say Jose Mourinho wants Real Madrid to block any move from his former club Chelsea for Angel di Maria.
Chelsea are reported to be interested in signing the Argentine winger, who is said to be unhappy with his current contract.
Didier Drogba could be paid more than £300,000 per week if he leaves Stamford Bridge to join former Blues striker Nicolas Anelka at Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua, according to the Mirror.
But the Daily Star say Drogba is Hughes’ number one transfer target for QPR.
