Chelsea are playing without a recognised striker at White Hart Lane but still managed to cause problems for Tottenham in the first half.

Blues boss Jose Mourinho dropped Diego Costa and deployed Eden Hazard in a central role up front.

Hazard responded impressively and headed over from Oscar’s cross as Mourinho’s side enjoyed a spell of pressure.

Pedro has also been lively for the visitors and went close with a firm strike from near the edge of the penalty area.

At the other end, Son Heung-min had a good chance for Spurs but his header from Harry Kane’s cross was saved by keeper Asmir Begovic, who also kept out an effort from Moussa Dembele.

Chelsea, without injured skipper John Terry as well as Ramires, have defended well so far and Nemanja Matic and Cesc Fabregas have had the upper hand in midfield.

Chelsea: Begovic; Ivanovic, Zouma, Cahill, Azpilicueta; Fabregas, Matic; Willian, Oscar, Pedro; Hazard.
Subs: Amelia, Djilobodji, Baba Rahman, Mikel, Loftus-Cheek, Kenedy, Costa.
