Guardiola ‘is Chelsea’s target’
Barcelona’s Pep Guardiola is Chelsea’s top target to take over at Stamford Bridge, according to the Sunday Mirror.
Andre Villas-Boas is believed to be close to being axed as manager in the wake of Saturday’s defeat at West Brom.
Former Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez is tipped to be given the job until the end of the season, when Guardiola’s contract is due to expire.
The Sun on Sunday also say Guardiola is Chelsea’s first-choice replacement and has opened the door to a move to England after declaring that he will not be rushed into signing a new deal at Barca.
But the paper suggest that Benitez wants at least a two-year contract rather than a stop-gap role.
The Mail on Sunday say Benitez is on the brink of being appointed and wants at least an 18-month deal.
