Former Chelsea manager Avram Grant advises Frank Lampard on how to avoid axing

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard

Former Blues manager Avram Grant took to the media to advise the current boss Frank Lampard on how to avoid being sacked by Roman Abramovich considering all he knows about facing the club’s pressure.

Questions have been raised if there is a need for another change as the club suffers a poor start to the 2020/21 season. While things seem to be going on a downslide, they have been able to hold up a 16-game unbeaten run.

Despite the spending spree, Lampard went on during the summer transfer window; he has only been able to take four points in their last six Premier League games, slowly becoming less of a title challenger.

Considering the huge sum of cash Abramovich invest in the summer, he is expecting Lampard to turn that investment into profit this season. If that doesn’t happen, he might just be recruiting a new face to replace the English manager at Stamford Bridge.

Although Lampard has promised not to quit his job, that decision doesn’t necessarily have to come from him if the team performance continues to go a downslide. With the matches known, https://www.boylesports.com/ have already placed impressive odds ahead of the games as the club hopes to catch a silverware this campaign

Grant, who took charge at the Stamford Bridge back in 2007, admitted that Lampard is certainly the right manager to push the club to glory. He also said that the Blues legend to have a fighting spirit and patience if he wants to remain the head coach for his club considering he does what is necessary as a manager.

Speaking to Sky Sports, the former Chelsea manager said: “What I can say to Frank and the others at the club is be patient, and, more than this, do whatever it is necessary to do, that’s for sure.

“Two things: never lose it even when things are going well, don’t lose your fighting spirit at the highest level.

“And second, don’t lose what you have here [points at head] you need to think right and look for solutions.

“If you do that then everything will be okay because the quality is there and there is a potential like there was [at Chelsea] in my time.”

He continued: “About the current situation I can say only this: You need to be strong when things are not going well when things are going well everyone is a genius and knows what to do.

“But in a situation like this when things aren’t going well you need to be strong, look for solutions, and show a lot about your character.”

Lampard, who became a Chelsea legend after spending 13 years at the club, said he is not worried about the questions being asked as the former Three Lions midfielder understands that life with the Premier League giants will also bring in big challenges.

Speaking t the media, Lampard said: “The reality is that one month ago and at the beginning of the season there was talk over whether we could win the league, but I was pretty sure of the fact of where we were at in terms of the ban and the rebuild and the youth.

“I knew there would be periods of pain we would go through as a club.”
