Chelsea were unable to find an early breakthrough at Stamford Bridge despite dominating possession in an impressive start.

Oscar, back in the side in the number 10 role, with Cesc Fabregas reverting to his more regular spot alongside Nemanja Matic, missed a glorious chance inside four minutes.

A fine run and cross by fellow Brazilian Willian found Oscar, who shot wildly over the bar from six yards.

Gary Cahill also headed over and had a fierce strike saved as the Premier League leaders continued to boss things.

West Ham barely got out of their half after the first minute when they threatened through Andy Carroll.
