Hughes: Free-kick decision was wrong
Stoke manager Mark Hughes felt the free-kick that led to Oscar’s briliant winner at Stamford Bridge should not have been awarded.
Oscar’s superb strike took the Blues into the fifth round of the FA Cup, where they will face Manchester City at the Eitihad Stadium for a place in the quarter-finals.
But former Chelsea man Hughes said: “I was a little bit disapponted with the award of the free-kick. I didn’t think it merited it as there was very little contact.
“But you have to hold your hands up when a player produces quality like Oscar did. At 1-0 down it was always going to be very difficult for us, but we stuck at it and were still very much in the game.
“In terms of the performance, I’m reasonably pleased, although you’re never happy to lose a cup game.”
