News in brief: Chelsea youngster’s loan move, Blues U21s draw, Fox to play in Stones game
Chelsea Under-21s
The Blues’ development side drew 0-0 with RC Lens’ second team in the first of two matches to be played on their brief trip to France. Mason Mount hit the crossbar early on with a header, while Charlie Wakefield and Ike Ugbo went close late on. They play Reims on Sunday.
Victorien Angban
Spanish side Granada have announced that they have signed the Chelsea teenager on loan. Ivorian midfielder Angban, 19, first came to Chelsea’s attention in 2012 but only signed in 2015 once he had qualified for a work permit. He then spent last season with Belgian side Sint-Truiden and will join fellow Chelsea loanee Jeremie Boga at Granada.
Brentford
Chief executive Mark Devlin says he expects around 3,000 fans at Griffin Park for Saturday’s pre-season friendly with Kaiserslautern, including almost 1,000 coming from Germany.

Lukas Tabro scored the winning penalty against his former club as the Bees’ rebranded development squad beat Odense Under 19s in a shoot-out.
The match at Vildbjerg Stadion ended in a 1-1 draw, with Bradley Clayton cancelling out Odense’s first-half opener. Brentford keeper Ellery Balcombe saved two penalties, with Danny Parish, Jarvis Edobor, Chris Mepham, Clayton, Marc Rio and Zain Westbrook netting.
Ruel Fox
The former Tottenham and Newcastle winger has been added to the squad of Premier League legends who will play Wealdstone in a charity match on Sunday 31 July. Ex-QPR winger Trevor Sinclair and four other former England internationals – Darren Anderton, Dion Dublin, Kevin Davies and Chris Powell – are also expected to feature.
Hayes & Yeading United
Former Barnet and Birmingham left-back Kamal Guthmy and ex-Uxbridge striker Melford Simpson have both joined the Southern League club.
Skipper Adam Everitt – who had attracted interest from other clubs following the club’s relegation from National League South – experienced former Premier League midfielder James Harper and full-back Jim Fenlon have all signed new deals. Academy graduates Lucas Sinclair, Ethan Grant and Jack Raines have also signed first-team forms.

Former Northwood striker Niko Muir, who made a solitary appearance for the Greens a few years ago, has rejoined the club.
Alan Turvey Trophy
Harrow Borough will entertain Wingate & Finchley in the first round of the Ryman League Cup, while Hendon will host Met Police.

The second XI games against Nepal on Monday and Wednesday of next week have been cancelled.
