Boss fears for Norwich star after injury
Norwich midfielder Wes Hoolahan left Craven Cottage on crutches after suffering an ankle injury in his side’s defeat against Fulham.
The Republic of Ireland international was taken off just before the hour mark as the Canaries were knocked off their perch at the top of the Championship.
Boss Neil Adams said: “Wes has gone over on his ankle. He’s on crutches and in a protective boot.
“He signalled straight away that he knew something was bad there.
“We won’t know the exact extent of the damage until he has his scan but it doesn’t look too clever.”
Adams was disappointed at the lack of clear-cut chances his side created and felt Lewis Grabban’s penalty miss early in the second half was the game’s turning point.
He said: “We had 63 per cent possession, which is massive away from home but it didn’t materialize into genuine goalscoring chances.
“We had the penalty obviously and it’s those fine margins that change games – if we score it, we probably win.
“The first 20 minutes we’re on top and Fulham break away and score with their first shot. There’s two or three errors there and we can’t afford to do that.
“To take one point from the last three games the way we’ve played is not good enough.”
