Former Chelsea defender Paul Elliott believes another club will snap up Roberto Di Matteo if the Blues do not install him as manager at the end of the season.
Interim boss Di Matteo is being touted for the job on a permanent basis after guiding Chelsea to their Champions League semi-final triumph against Barcelona.
And Elliott, a fans’ favourite during his time at Stamford Bridge, told Sky: “I think Di Matteo is a worthy candidate.
“He’s only lost one of his 14 games, has engaged the senior players and is a Chelsea legend. He’s an outstanding manager and a very articulate and intelligent man.
“Regardless of where he goes, Roberto Di Matteo will be a Premier League manager next season.”
