Drogba expected to make move
Shanghai Shenhua are so confident of landing Didier Drogba they have reserved the number 11 shirt for him, the Daily Mirror reports.
The Chinese outfit signed Nicolas Anelka from the Blues earlier this season and the French striker recently declared that he expected his former team-mate to join him there in the summer.
And the Mirror quote club owner and chairman Zhu Jun as saying: “During negotiations, Drogba said that he liked the number 11. So to show the club’s sincerity, we reserved it for him.”
Meanwhile, several papers report John Terry’s denial that player power at Stamford Bridge led to Andre Villas-Boas being sacked as Chelsea manager.
Terry said: “People have this thing about the senior players having a massive influence. I can assure you that is not the case.”
