DeGale weighs in ahead of title defence

James DeGale was bang on the 12-stone super-middleweight limit at the weigh-in ahead of his European title defence against former world champion Cristian Sanavia in Frederikshavn, Denmark.

The West Londoner faces a tricky task against the 37-year-old Italian, who was a couple of ounces lighter.

It will be DeGale’s first defence of the belt he won by beating Poland’s Piotr Wilczewski on points in October.

Sanavia is the mandatory challenger for the title and has won 45 of his 51 fights.
