DeGale lines up next title defence
James DeGale’s next defence of his European super-middleweight title could be against Italy-based Senegalese southpaw Mouhamed Ali Ndiaye.
Negotiations have taken place since Ndiaye, 26, improved his record to 22-1 with a recent ninth-round stoppage of Jose Maria Guererro.
Spanish veteran Guererro was due to face DeGale in Liverpool last year but the fight was called off at short notice.
DeGale has since made a successful first defence by demolishing former world champion Cristian Sanavia in four rounds.
That victory took the Harlesden man’s record to 12-1 – his only defeat being last year’s close points decision against arch rival and fellow West Londoner George Groves.
