Samba ‘keen to sign for Hughes’
The Daily Telegraph believe Chris Samba is keen to be reunited with Mark Hughes despite interest from Tottenham.
QPR boss Hughes signed the defender for Blackburn, who were handed a transfer request by Samba on Monday.
It is claimed Rovers want around £12m for the player, with QPR and Spurs looking to pay half that.
The Daily Mirror say Blackburn claim they are owed money by Samba.
It is reported that Samba was loaned a sizeable six-figure sum by Rovers to help him build an extension on his house.
The Mirror also say Chelsea have stepped up their efforts to sign Marseille right-back Cesar Apilicueta.
And the Daily Mail suggest Chelsea are closing on a deal for Lille’s Eden Hazard amid renewed competition from Real Madrid.
The Daily Express report that Fulham are on the brink of snatching superkid Jack Grimmer away from Aberdeen and have entered the race for Mervan Celik.
The Bristol Evening Post report Bristol City’s attempt to sign Fulham defender Matthew Briggs on loan.
