Dawson sure staying at Tottenham was the right decision

Michael Dawson says he never doubted staying at Tottenham was the right decision.

Dawson rejected a move to QPR in the summer after being told he could leave White Hart Lane.

He opted to battle for his first-team place at Spurs and has been a key player for them this season.

“If I had wanted to leave, I could have gone,” he said.

“There was an offer on the table, but I chose to stay and fight for my position.

“I wasn’t going to jump ship at the first sign of hard times. I’ve been at Tottenham eight years this month and it’s not always been easy.

“You have always got to believe in yourself. You can never doubt your own ability.”
