Chelsea still leading the pack in the EPL
The English Premier League is in full swing and this season has gone well for the boys in Blue having only lost one match in their last 15 encounters and is sitting at the top spot on the EPL table. The man in charge Thomas Tuchel will know that there is still a mountain to climb before any celebrations can take place. This week has not been smooth sailing though as there has been plenty of transfer rumours making the rounds. One of the rumours is about Timo Werner who has recently been in contact with Newcastle, the forward has had less game time than he would have wanted but started on the pitch in the last two games and opened his score sheet with a goal against Southampton earlier this month. The German player insists that he has not made up his mind about where he wants to be and Tuchel is well aware of what a dangerous combination he can be with Romelu. Another rumour is the return of winger Eden Hazard back into the fray. The Belgium winger left the Pensioners in 2019 for his dream club Real Madrid but things aren’t going the way he planned. Tuchel has made his feeling clear about the Belgium winger clear with a statement earlier this year before a game against Real Madrid stating “He is a top quality player and a key player for many years at this club and this league, the hardest in the world”.
Chelsea is playing two matches in the upcoming few days. The Blues will travel to Brentford Community Stadium to take on Brentford in the EPL on Saturday with the match kicking off at 16:30. Brentford is currently sitting on the seventh spot on the log and the team is shaping well and taking form having done well in their last few matches and Tuchel will know that the team has what it takes having drawn 3 – 3 against Liverpool in their encounter in September and beating West Ham United by 2 – 1 in their next match. Chelsea’s next Uefa match is a home game against Malmö FC on Wednesday evening. Fans will hope that they bounce back from their loss against Juventus having lost the match 1- 0 after the final whistle.
