Chelsea star Palmer withdraws from England squad

Chelsea’s Cole Palmer has withdrawn from the England squad for their upcoming Nations League matches.

Palmer reported for duty at St George’s Park but he and Aston Villa’s former Brentford forward Ollie Watkins returned to their clubs “to continue their rehabilitation from ongoing issues”, said the Football Association.

England will face the Republic of Ireland in Dublin on Saturday and then Finland at Wembley three days later.
