Chelsea prospect injured in reserve game
Youngster Nathaniel Chalobah picked up an injury as Chelsea’s reserves drew 2-2 with Swansea City this evening.
The highly rated teenager limped off during the first half of the match in Llanelli and his condition is being assessed.
Casey Thomas scored the opening goal of the game early in the second half – and was later himself carried off injured.
Striker Patrick Bamford, signed from Nottingham Forest a few weeks ago, maintained his impressive scoring record for the second string with an equaliser 12 minutes from the end.
Romelu Lukaku had a late effort cleared off the line by Swansea’s Alan Tate, before substitute Rory Donnelly – who replaced Thomas – put the home side back in front.
But there was still time for Lucas Piazon to net another equaliser for the Blues.
