Chelsea ‘out to beat QPR to £10m Wigan ace’
Chelsea are ready to make a shock £10m swoop for Wigan star Victor Moses, the Daily Mirror say.
It is claimed that Moses is a favourite of Chelsea’s talent spotter Michael Emenalo and that the club are looking to pip neighbours QPR to his signing.
And it is also suggested that the capture of Moses would probably mean the end for Daniel Sturridge at Stamford Bridge.
Sturridge has fallen out of favour under Blues boss Roberto Di Matteo and has been linked with the likes of Arsenal and Manchester City.
Meanwhile, the Daily Mail report that three members of Chelsea’s staff have been suspended after the Champions League trophy was damaged.
One of the handles was apparently left hanging off after the three security personnel posed for pictures with the trophy.
Club chief executive Ron Gourlay is understood to be conducting an internal investigation.
The Sun report that QPR boss Mark Hughes is thinking of signing midfielder Stephen Ireland from Aston Villa.
