Chelsea man wanted by Napoli – report

Chelsea midfielder Raul Meireles is an £8m target for Napoli, according to the Daily Mirror.

It is claimed that Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has made enquiries to Meireles’ agents and is keen to try and make the move happen.

The Mirror also say that QPR wanted to fine Joey Barton three months’ rather than six weeks’ wages for his violent outburst against Manchester City on the final day of last season.

The PFA are said to have stepped in to stop him being fined close to £1m by the club.

Manager Mark Hughes is determined to get Barton out of Loftus Road, the Daily Mail report, and is likely to make him train with the reserves until the player leaves.
