Chelsea fan scores goal that beats Blues in first leg of Youth Cup final

An injury-time penalty meant Chelsea’s youngsters lost 1-0 to Norwich in front a 22,000 crowd at Carrow Road in the first leg of the FA Youth Cup final.

Cameron McGeehan – a Chelsea fan released by the club as a 14-year-old – smashed home from the spot after Alex Davey fouled Josh Murphy.

The Blues dominated the first half and were twice denied by goal-line clearances.

After getting on the end of Lewis Baker’s free-kick, Nathan Ake had two bites of the cherry but could not find a way past Cameron Norman.

Then it was another Cameron – Cameron King – who frustrated Chelsea. He was similarly well placed to prevent Islam Feruz opening the scoring.

Norwich were a threat in the early stages of the second half and Carlton Morris cut in from the left before sending an effort wide of the Chelsea goal.

That chance was created by the impressive Murphy, who went close himself with a fierce strike from just inside the box.

And after Murphy was brought down as Davey stumbled, McGeehan made no mistake.
