Can Rangers upset Arsenal?

Chelsea are 8/1 for the Champion League with betvictor.com following their excellent result in Lisbon and surely a semi-final spot beckons after a thoroughly deserved victory at the Estadio da Luz.

There have been worse 8/1 shots even with the shadow of Barcelona looming on the horizon.

Before next week’s second leg they must face an Aston Villa side that are low on confidence and in danger of being pulled into a relegation fight.

Chelsea are a shade of odds-on at 19/20 with Villa 33/10 and the draw at 13/5.

Hughes dropped his captain.

The home draw with Spurs last weekend effectively ruined any chance they had of finishing in the top four and they are likely to have one eye on the second leg at the Bridge, but Villa are a poor side at present.

Rangers are 2/7 to be relegated with BetVictor after their defeat at the Stadium Of Light and they must do without the frustrating Djibril Cisse for the next four crucial Premier League games after his red card in their heavy defeat against Sunderland.

One huge gamble was landed last week as we initially offered 9/4 on Joey Barton to be on the bench against Sunderland. That was backed at all rates into 4/6 before the market was pulled – at least some Rangers fans were better off after Mark Hughes’ decision to leave his captain out of the side.

In-form Arsenal visit Loftus Road on Saturday having won their last seven on the bounce in the league – a run that has taken them back into the Champions League places. The Gunners are 1/2 to finish the season as top London club with Spurs 13/8 and Chelsea out to 16s.

The R’s are 5/1 to cause a shock with the Gunners 3/5 and the draw at 3/1.

Robin van Persie is a very short price to be named Player of the Year after carrying Arsenal for much of the season and we have a special match bet between Rangers and RvP (if van Persie doesn’t start then all bets will be refunded).

QPR v RvP – who will score more goals (bets void if RvP doesn’t start for Arsenal)
QPR 13/8
RvP 7/4
Draw 7/4

Fulham (4/6) need to get back to winning ways against Norwich (4/1) at Craven Cottage after their unfortunate defeat at Old Trafford on Monday night, when they were denied an obvious penalty in the last few minutes.

The Canaries are currently 11/8 to finish the season as top promoted club behind 8/15 Swansea with 50/1 Rangers.

Pavel Pogrebnyak is 9/2 to net the opener with Clint Dempsey 5s, and I think Fulham will collect all three points.

The hosts to lead at half-time and full-time are 6/4 and that looks a fair price given the Canaries are limited and Fulham cannot play as badly as they did against Swansea in their last home game.
