Brazil star plays down Chelsea link

Corinthians midfielder Paulinho has told Brazilian media there is no truth in speculation he is on course to join Chelsea when the transfer window opens in January.

The Brazil international, 24, is one of a host of players linked with a move to Stamford Bridge.

But, speaking to Lancenet, he said: “When an offer comes I wil be the first to tell everyone about it. This is just more speculation.

“There was nothing. I’m happy here. We have the Club World Cup at the end of the year and I’m totally focused.

“It’s hard to deal with this kind of situation but I have a family and team-mates who help me do my best every day.”
