Bamford nets two as Chelsea’s youngsters see off City

Striker Patrick Bamford scored twice as Chelsea won 3-2 at Manchester City in the Under-21 Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

Bamford gave his side an early lead, firing into the corner of the net after being found by a great ball from Lewis Baker.

And The Blues were two up at the break after a fine move ended with Bamford back-heeling to Islam Feruz, who finished well.

Marcos Lopez pulled a goal back early in the second half, but Bamford’s deflected effort restored Chelsea’s two-goal cushion.

The impressive Lopez again reduced the deficit late on, but Dermot Drummy’s team held out for a deserved win – their first victory in six matches.
