AVB ‘testing owner’s patience’
Manchester City are plotting a bid to buy back Daniel Sturridge from Chelsea, according to the Daily Mail.
City are said to have made an enquiry about the England international, who left them for Stamford Bridge in July 2009.
There has been speculation about Sturridge’s future for some time, with Arsenal also reported to be interested.
The Independent suggest Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas is further testing the patience of club owner Roman Abramovich by claiming the Blues cannot compete with Premier League leaders City.
And The Guardian say Villas-Boas’ comments are an apparent criticism of Abramovich’s strategy.
Meanwhile, a number of papers mention QPR chairman Tony Fernandes’ plan to meet fans in pubs around Loftus Road before the game against Everton.
‘Tony meets booze boys’, The Sun’s headline declares.
