Quins snap up ex-England winger Sackey
Harlequins have signed former England winger Paul Sackey to replace the injured Ross Chisholm.
Sackey, 33, who has also played for London Irish and Wasps, returns to the capital after three seasons in France with Toulon and Stade Francais.
Quins moved for Sackey after Chisholm suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament during the recent JP Morgan 7s, ending his season.
Sackey won 22 caps for England, scoring 11 tries, including against Samoa and Tonga in the 2007 World Cup.
Director of Rugby Conor O’Shea said: “To get the chance to sign a player of Paul Sackey’s experience and ability is great for the club.
“Paul is in good shape and I know how much he still wants to succeed.
“I’m sure that together with our other experienced wingers, Ugo Monye and Tom Williams, he will pass on his extensive experience to the other young outside backs we have here.”
Sackey added: “While I enjoyed my time in France, I wanted to return to England to finish my career [and] to be given the chance to do so at Harlequins is very exciting for me.”
